NEW ORLEANS – For the second straight week Eastern Illinois women's cross country has been ranked in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings as the Panthers are 15th for the second straight week.
Last Friday EIU competed at the Bradley Intercollegiate finishing second in the race behind Bradley which is ranked 13th in the Midwest Region.
Senior
Maria Baldwin posted her second consecutive second place finish of the season as she posted a time of 17:07.4 on the 3-mile course. Freshman
Kate Bushue was ninth in the event with
Ali Gutt and
Grace Rowan both finishing in the top 20 for EIU.
EIU will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 30 as they will face a strong field at the Louisville Classic.
Minnesota moved into first in the Midwest rankings followed by Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Missouri and Kansas in the top five. Missouri had been ranked number one last week. Northwestern is sixth with Oklahoma, Northern Illinois, Illinois and Tulsa rounding out the top ten. South Dakota was 11th followed by Iowa, Bradley, Northern Iowa and Eastern Illinois .
