CO-MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Dustin Hatfield • Eastern Illinois • Fr. • Spring Valley, Wis.
In his first collegiate meet, Hatfield took first place in a field of 90 at the EIU Walt Crawford Open, covering the 8K course in 25:09.03 (the fastest 8K of the week in the OVC). Hatfield won the race by eight seconds in a field that included a pair of regionally-ranked teams in Illinois (No. 3 Midwest) and Bradley (No. 7 Midwest).
 
CO-MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Edwin Kurgat • UT Martin • So. • Eldoret, Kenya
Kurgat overcame wet conditions to take first place in a field of 127 runners at the Covered Bridge Open hosted by Appalachian State on Friday. The sophomore bested a field that included a pair of regionally-ranked teams (No. 5 Florida State, No. 14 ETSU) and finished the 8K race in a time of 25:52.08 (10 seconds ahead of second place). His performance lifted the Skyhawks to a third-place team finish in a field of 11 squads.

FEMALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Charlotte Imer • Eastern Kentucky • Jr. • Melbourne, Australia
Imer opened her season by winning the Morehead State Eagle Opener on Friday. The All-American ran the fastest 5K in the OVC during the week, finishing first in a field of 44 with a time of 17:17.1. That was nearly 19 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Kentucky All-American Katy Kunc. Imer’s performance led EKU, ranked No. 6 in the Southeast Region, to a team win over Kentucky (who was ranked No. 4). It marks the sixth time in her career she has been named OVC Runner of the Week.
