BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois junior Jade Riebold has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Female Field Athlete of the Year as announced by the conference office.  This marks the second straight season that she has won the award for indoor track.

Riebold has been consistent all season competing in the pole vault.  She recently matched her own school record clearing 13'11” to win the event at the EIU Friday Night Special.  Riebold holds the OVC best mark in the event as she currently ranks 8th in the NCAA.

EIU will host the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Lantz Fieldhouse.  The Panthers are the four-time defending indoor champions on both the men's and women's side.  Last year Riebold won the OVC pole vault setting a new conference record.

The Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the year were voted on by the conference coaches, and represent four of the member institutions. The Female and Male Track Athletes of the Year Awards were earned by Chantelle Grey of Austin Peay and Soufiane Bouchikhi of Eastern Kentucky.  The Female Athlete of Field Athlete of the Year Award goes to Jade Riebold of Eastern Illinois, and the Male Field Athlete of the Year goes to Reggie Miller, Jr. of Southeast Missouri.
