Cross Country Opens Season On Tuesday Night

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois cross country gets underway on Tuesday evening with a midweek competition at the Millikin 5K With A View. The five team event will take place at Nelson Park in Decatur starting at 5:30 p.m.

The EIU men were projected to finish second in the preseason Ohio Valley Conference poll. EIU will be led by a number of young runners as they will send twelve runners to the meet. The Panthers will be led by senior David Holm and Matt Dettloff.

The EIU women were projected to finish fourth in the preseason OVC poll. The Panthers will send a large contingent of their team led by veterans Erin O’Grady and Caitlin Napoleoni.

Eastern Illinois will return to action on Sept. 11 when they host the Panther Open on the Panther Trail in Charleston.
