EIU Women Place 4th At Bradley Cross Classic

The Panther women raced against some of the region's top teams as they placed fourth in a field of twenty teams. Iowa State won the women's race with 69 points followed by DePaul in second and Saint Louis in third. EIU was fourth scoring 169. 

Olivia Klaus paced the women's runners from EIU for the fourth time this season as the sophomore placed 16th on the 6K course with a time of 21:56. Elise Sigg of UW Milwaukee was the overall winner with a time of 21:03. 

Caitlin Napoleoni was 25th with a time of 22:12 followed by Brittany Arthur in 30th andGabriela Duenas in 38th. Arthur finished with a time of 22:21 and Duenas crossed with a time of 22:34. Erika Ramos was the fifth EIU runner to cross with a time of 22:53 to place 55th.Megan Gingerich and Stephanie Peisker completed the top seven EIU runners. Gingerich was 79th with a time of 23:18 while Peisker was 94th with a time fo 23:33. 

On the men's side EIU placed 13th in a field of 21 teams. Iowa won the event with 67 points while Southern Illinois was second at 105. EIU scored 356. Matthew Graham of DePaul and Jeff Thode of Iowa both crossed with a time 23:37 but Graham edged Thone out at the line to win individual honors. 

Brad LaRocque was the top EIU men's runner as continued to return to the form he showed as a freshman runner. LaRocque was 25th with a 8K time of 24:57. Connor Kustief and Matt Dettloff finished at 82nd and 89th while Danny Delaney was 93rd. Kustief posted a time of 25:52 with Dettloff crossing at 25:58 and Delaney at 25:59. 

Wes Sheldon was the fifth Panther runner scoring points with a time of 26:02 good for 99th.Ryan Ballard and Graham Morris rounded out the EIU top seven. Ballard was 103rd with a time of 26:05 while Morris was 123rd with a time of 26:22.
