Women's DMR sets school record, Carter and Tribble place first

Eastern Illinois split its indoor track and field squad on Friday night with several athletes faring extremely well as the Panthers competed at both the Iowa State Classic and the Indiana Hoosier Hills Meet. EIU will continue action on Saturday at Iowa State. 

At the Iowa State Classic the Panthers posted one individual first place finish while setting the school record in another event. 

Tyler Carter placed first in the long jump at the ISU Classic with a jump of 24'0.75". TeammateBryce Hogan placed eighth with a jump of 23'0.75". Competing at the Indiana Hoosier Hills Meet, Randolph Tribble picked up a first place finish in the triple jump at 46'11" while placing fourth in the long jump with a mark of 21'6". 

The women's Distance Medley Relay team set the school record as they placed seventh in the event at Iowa State. EIU posted a time of 11:55.94 with the foursome of Paige BiehlerEmily QuinonesErika Foltys and Erika Ramos. The men's DMR at Iowa State placed ninth with a time of 10:06.96. 

Gabriela Duenas finished sixth in the non-seeded 3000m run at Iowa State with a time of 17:52.21. That time landed at third on the EIU career list. Michelle Pranger also cracked the EIU career top ten in the weight throw with a mark of 49'7" at the Indiana Hoosier Hills. Pranger's mark placed ninth in the meet and ranks 10th at EIU. 

Additional top ten finishes on Friday by EIU runners were turned in by Darren Patterson with a ninth place finish in the 200m and Danny Delaney placing 9th in the non-seeded 3000m run. Patterson's time was 21.79 while Delaney's mark was 8:46.48. 

Competing at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas on Friday afternoon in the 800m Invitational,Megan Gingerich placed 14th with a time of 2:11.84. Zye Boey will compete in the 200m dash a the Tyson Invitational on Saturday.
