Five Advance To Saturday Finals At Kansas Relays

KANSAS RELAYS RESULTS LINK

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's outdoor track advanced three individuals and two relay teams to Saturday's finals as the Panthers wrapped up day two at the Kansas Relays. In addition to the individuals and relay teams advancing to finals, EIU also recorded two second place finishes.

Mick Viken continued his outstanding first collegiate season as he placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 17'6.50”. Viken and Jordan Scott of Kansas both cleared the same height but Scott placed first based on number of attempts.

The women's distance medley relay team placed second behind Kansas as the Panther women posted a time of 12:11.86. The women's relay team consisted of Olivia KlausMegan GingerichErika Foltys and Erika Ramos.

Three individuals advanced to Saturday finals as Zye BoeyPat Tortorici and Bridget Sanchezall posted top eight finishes. Boey had the fastest time in the 200m dash at 21.01 while Tortorici had the third best time in the 400m hurdles at 52.40. Sanchez was seventh in the 400m prelims with a time of 56.81.

The women's 4x100 relay team placed eighth in the prelims to advance to Saturday's finals.Emily Quinones, Sanchez, Jaida Moore and Klaudia Susul comprised the team that had a time of 47.65.

The men's 4x400 relay team placed eighth in the prelims to advance to Saturday's finals.Darren PattersonCody BoarmanChad Aubin and Preston Smith comprised the team that had a time of 3:16.09. The women's 4x400 relay team just missed the finals by placing ninth.
