2011 NCAA West Regional Track Results

EUGENE, Ore. - Eastern Illinois track and field wrapped up competition at the 2011 NCAA West Regional on Saturday as Zye Boey and Tyler Arnholt were in action for the Panthers. The meet was hosted by the University of Oregon at Hayward Field.

Boey was competing in the quarterfinals of the 200m run after placing 23rd in the first round on Friday. Boey placed 23rd on Saturday with a time of 22.66. On Friday Boey did advance to the NCAA Championships in the 100m dash as he placed 11th in that event. The NCAA Championships will take place at Drake University from June 8-11.

Arnholt completed his EIU career placing 34th in the discus. He had a distance of 162'3".

EIU sent eleven athletes to compete in the NCAA West Regional. Boey's qualification in the NCAA Championships marks the third straight year that the Panthers have advanced an athlete to the event. Boey competed in the 100m as a redshirt freshman in 2009. Last season Kandace Arnold advanced to the championships in the shot put.
