Brenton Emanuel is in his first season as director of EIU Track & Field and Cross Country. He takes over for long time EIU head coach and his mentor, Tom Akers. Emanuel ran at EIU from 2004-2008 as a sprinter for Coach Akers. He was also an assistant coach for 4 years from 2010-2013 here at EIU. He spent the last 4 years building Illinois State's sprint, hurdle and relay crew into one of the best in the region.

Coach Emanuel will primarily work with the sprinters, hurdlers, and relays.
