EIU wraps up first day at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - David Holm placed first and Clint Coffey sixth in the men's 1000m run as Eastern Illinois indoor track completed day one at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational.

Holm won the 1000m race in a time of 2:23.41 finishing ahead of a trio of runners from Wisconsin.  Coffey was sixth covering the distance in a time of 2:26.46.

Current jumps coach JaRod Tobler won the long jump as an open competitor with a mark of 24'11.25".

Sean Wiggan was a third place finisher in the 500m run while Marcus Williams was 8th in the 300m sprint.

On the women's side Kandace Arnold and Nicole Walcott both had a top ten finish in the weight throw.  Arnold was seventh with a mark of 53'07.00 with Walcott in eighth at 53'01.50".

Bridget Sanchez was the women's top runner with a 22nd place finish in the 300m dash.

Competition resumes at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center.
