Track Has 3 First Place Finishes In Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Eastern Illinois track and field picked up eleven top three individual finishes including three first place showings as the Panthers competed on Friday at the Louisville Twilight.

Zye BoeyEmily Quinones and Mick Viken all had individual first place finishes.  Boey won the 200m dash with a time of 20.97.  Quinones won the women's 100m dash with a time of 12.29.  Viken won the men's pole vault clearing a height of 17'7".

Three individuals posted top ten EIU career marks at the meet while one relay team cracked the top ten.  Dominique Hall was second in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.28 which ranks ninth on the EIU career list.  Paige Biehler was fifth in the 800m women's run with a time of 2:13.34 which ranks ninth on the EIU list.  Teammate Megan Gingerich, who holds the school record in the 800m, was second in the race with a time of 2:08.85. Donald Romero was 10th in the men's shot put with a distance of 54'8.75" which moves him up to eighth on the EIU career list.

The men's 4x400 relay team consisting of Joe AugustineStefan GorolSean Wiggan andCody Boarman placed second.  Their time of 3:10.15 landed fourth on the EIU career list.  EIU women's 4x400 relay team also placed second with a time of 3:51.12.  The team was comprised of Quinones, Erika Ramos, Gingerich and Bridget Sanchez.

Steven Clark posted a second place finish in the men's 100m with a time of 10.70.  Jalisa Paramore was third in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 14.12.

In field events Queenie Adeboyejo and Maura Cummins posted second place finishes.  Adeboyejo had a mark of 39'0.50" in the women's triple jump.  Cummins cleared 5'8" in the women's high jump.

Abigail Schmitz and Bryce Hogan had third place finishes in field events.  Schmitz was third in the women's pole vault with a height of 12'9.50".  Hogan was third in the men's long jump at 23'4".

EIU will return to action in two weeks at the NCAA West Regional in Austin, Texas.  The top 48 individuals in each event will advance to the meet.
