BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois track athletes Zye Boey and Chandra Golden continued to domisteepleweb the weekly Ohio Valley Conference indoor track awards as the pair of runners swept the awards for yet another week.

Boey, a redshirt freshman sprinter from Decatur, Ill., won his fifth award of the season by sweeping the 60m and 200m sprints. The two times this season Boey has not won the award, EIU did not compete one week and teammate David Holm won the other week. Boey won the 60m with a time of 6.71 which passed the NCAA provisional mark for the third time this year. He won the 200m in a time of 21.61 as he holds the school record in both events. Boey is also ranked in the Top 10 nationally in both events.

Golden, a redshirt junior runner from Normal, Ill., won the weekly award for the fourth time this season winning the 60m and 60m hurdles. Golden’s time in the 60m dash was 7.60 which ranks as the second fastest time in EIU history. She won the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.48, her second fastest mark this season.

EIU will host the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track Championships this Friday and Saturday at Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse.
