Uhe Named OVC Field Athlete Of The Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Senior Jenna Uhe of the Eastern Illinois women’s track and field team was named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week for her performances at the SIUE Twilight on Saturday. EIU will head to Eastern Kentucky this weekend to compete in the OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Uhe, a jumper from Alhambra, Ill., posted her best performances of the season in both the long jump and triple jump in the final tune-up for the OVC meet. She was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18’04.50” and seventh in the triple jump at 37’07.75”. She also placed fifth in the javelin with a toss of 123’11”.

Uhe is the defending OVC champion in the triple jump having won the event in 2008. She won the OVC title in the long jump as a sophomore in 2007.
