Trevor, Paramore Win OVC Track Awards

Panthers win OVC Male & Female weekly track honor
 
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois track athletes Danny Trevor and Jalisa Paramore were both recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference on Wednesday for their efforts at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper last weekend.  Trevor was named the adidas® OVC Male Track Athlete of the Week while Paramore won the adidas® OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
Trevor won the 110m hurdles and placed second in the 400m hurdles at Western Kentucky.  His first place time in the 110m hurdles was 14.57 which ranks second in the OVC this season.  His runner-up mark in the 400m hurdles was 52.82 which is the best time in the OVC this season and ranks 85th in the nation.
 
Paramore had a pair of first place finishes for the EIU women at Western Kentucky.  She won the long jump with a leap of 20'3.75" which ranks second on the EIU career list as she became the second Panther female athlete to break the 20' mark in the long jump.  Her mark ranks first in the OVC and 23rd in the nation.  Paramore also took first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.79 which is third best in the OVC this year.
 
EIU will return to action this Saturday competing at the SIU Edwardsville Gateway Classic.
