Men's Track Season Ends Saturday In Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - Day three of the track and field NCAA West Regional came to a close with one Eastern Illinois individual and the men's 4x100 relay team all competing for a chance to advance to the NCAA National Championships. Both the individual and relay team fell short in their attempts ending the season for the Panther men. 

The Panthers had advanced ten individuals and one relay team to the NCAA West Regional format but following three days of competition only senior Kandace Arnold was able to finish with a top 12 mark and earn a trip to the NCAA National Championships to be hosted by the University of Oregon. 

On Saturday at the Regional hosted by the University of Texas Tyler Arnholt competed in the men's discus finishing with a mark of 165'8" to finish in 29th place. 

The EIU 4x100 relay team posted a time of 40.33 which was one one-hundredth of a second shy of their school record set earlier this year. The men's team finished in 18th place including Brandon JelksZye BoeyDarren Patterson and Jacob Mitchell in the event.
