EUGENE, Ore. - Eastern Illinois senior Kandace Arnold concluded her Panther track and field career on Friday evening at the NCAA National Championships hosted by the University of Oregon. Arnold placed 16th in the shot put with a throw of 51'11.75".

Arnold from Evergreen Park, Ill., placed 10th in her flight competing in the second flight which landed her in 16th place overall. Her top throw came on the final of three attempts. She ends her career as the most highly decorated female track and field athlete in EIU history. Arnold holds the school record in the indoor shot put, indoor weight throw, outdoor shot put, discus and hammer.

Earlier this year Arnold was named the OVC Female Athlete of the Championships as EIU won both the indoor and outdoor track and field championships. She was named the OVC and EIU Female Athlete of the Year and earlier this week was named the OVC nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.
