Panthers Head to Indiana Relays

EIU men & women set for two-day indoor event against 13 other squads

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Following their respective first place finishes at last weekend's John Craft Invite, Eastern Illinois men's and women's indoor track and field will now head to Bloomington, Indiana for the two-day (Jan. 30-31) Indiana Relays.  All action will take place inside the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse on the IU campus.

The Panthers will face 13 collegiate units over the course of the weekend, including Ohio Valley Conference foes Jacksonville State, Murray State and Southeast Missouri.  While besides the host Hoosier units, other squads that Eastern will also battle, include Alabama State, Illinois State, Louisville, Loyola (Chicago), Saint Louis, Southern Illinois, Tulane, Western Kentucky, and Xavier.

Friday (Jan. 30) afternoon action is set to get underway at 2 p.m. (central time) with a full contingent of field events on tap, while the track races following at 2:30 p.m.  On Saturday (Jan. 31), additional invitational field events are scheduled for a 9:30 (central) start time, with final track competition set to begin at 9:50 a.m.

Both Panther units last competed at the Indiana Relays two years ago with Eastern securing five first place marks over the course of the weekend meet.
