BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois junior Riley McInerney has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Male co-Runner of the Week.  It is the second time this season that McInerney has earned the honor after he helped the Panthers turn in their best team performance at the Notre Dame Invite since the 1970's.

McInerney placed third in the Notre Dame Gold Race with a 5-mile time of 24:40.9, which is the 21st fastest time in school history.   It was the third time this season that McInerney has placed in the top three as he won the EIU Walt Crawford and placed second at the Illinois State Intercollegiate.  McInerney helped pace the Panthers to a third place finish as a team behind Clemson and North Central College.

EIU returns to action on Oct. 16 at the Bradley Pink Classic and then at the OVC Championships on Oct. 31 at Murray State.

Erick Rotich of Eastern Kentucky was the co-Male Runner of the Week.  Hannah Wittman of Belmont was the Female Runner of the Week.
