Seven More Top Ten Finishes For EIU Track

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Eastern Illinois track and field added to its list of top ten finishes at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite on Saturday afternoon with seven top ten finishes including one school record and three other EIU career top ten marks.

Britney Whitehead set her second school record in as many weeks winning the mile run.  Whitehead posted a time of 4:53.59 which just edged the previous school mark held by teammate Erika Ramos.  Whitehead placed fourth in the event.

Ramos ran the 800m event finishing in sixth place with a time 2:08.96.  Ramos mark is second on the EIU career list.

Calvin Edwards moved his way up the EIU men's career top ten in the 200m.  Edwards placed second in the event with a time of 21.55 which ranks fifth on the EIU list.

Bryce Basting posted the final EIU career top ten mark of the weekend with a fourth place finish in the men's 800m.  Basting had a time of 1:50.13 which is third best at EIU.

Jade Riebold continued her solid season in the women's pole vault invitational.  Riebold placed second with a height of 13'7.25” but was the top collegiate finisher in the event.  Teammate Abigail Schmitz placed eighth with a vault of 12'3.50”.

Mick Viken placed second in the men's pole vault invite with a height of 17'0.75”.  It was the fourth straight meet this season that Viken has cleared the 17' plateau.
