Sophomore had three first place finishes at UNI Meet

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois sophomore sprinter Calvin Edwards has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week. The Panthers will return to action this weekend at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite.

Edwards picked up three first place finishes as the Panthers competed at the Northern Iowa meet last weekend. For the second straight week he placed first in the 200m and 400m sprints while also anchoring the first place 4x400 relay squad. His winning time in the 200m was 21.62 while his 400m time was 48.98. The 4x400 relay squad posted a time of 3:19.73. His 200m time is best in the OVC this season and ranked in the top 30 in the nation.
