Track Wraps Up Weekend At Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – Eastern Illinois track wrapped up competition at the 106th Drake Relays on Saturday afternoon with two top three finishes. The Panthers return to action next weekend at the Indiana Billy Hayes Meet.
Senior Ephraim Dorsey placed second in the men's 800m run as his time of 1:49.86 ranks fifth on the EIU career list.
The men's 4x100 relay tied the school record in the prelims on Friday. On Saturday the Panthers placed third a competitive field with a time of 40.45. Arkansas won the event followed by Illinois is second. EIU finished ahead of Ohio State as the Buckeyes were fourth. The EIU relay team included Jamal Robinson, Calvin Edwards, Norvel Mohammed and Christian Ilunga-Matthiesen.
EIU opened the day competing in the men's steeplechase where Joe Calio placed sixth with a time of 9:03.39.
