Johansson OVC Field Athlete Of The Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois senior thrower David Johansson has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week. Johansson earned the honor following a strong performance at the Indiana Billy Hayes Meet last weekend.
Johansson won the men's javelin throw at the IU Billy Hayes with a season best effort of 205'03". The mark ranks first in the OVC and leads the conference by nearly three feet. The senior currently ranks 47th in the NCAA West Regional in the javelin. Johansson posted a throw of 156'3" in the hammer which placed 10th.
The Panthers return to action this weekend hosting the EIU Twilight on Friday. EIU heads to the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships on May 15-16 at Clarksville, Tenn.
