SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Mick Viken picked up a win in the pole vault on number of jumps as Eastern Illinois indoor track and field opened Friday night action at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite.  EIU also advanced three runners to Saturday finals.

Viken cleared 17'0.75" on his first attempt to place first in the pole vault as Matthew Bane of Illinois needed three attempts to finish in second.  EIU's Joe Noonan placed third with a mark of 16'6.75".

In the men's 60m dash Zye Boey and Jacob Mitchell both advanced to Saturday's final.  Boey was second in the prelims at 6.77.  Mitchell was sixth with a prelim mark of 6.86.

In the men's 60m hurdles Dominique Hall moved into Saturday's finals with a seventh place finish at 8.20.

In the DMR the EIU men placed sixth with a time of 10:08.08.  The men's DMR included Wes SheldonDarren PattersonRyan Ballard and Danny Delaney.

The women's DMR placed 11th with a time of 12:13.86.   The women's DMR included Erika RamosBridget SanchezMegan Gingerich and Britney Whitehead.

Tyler Carter posted a fifth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 23'10.25".
