Cross Country Hosts Peace To Meece 5K
Saturday, August 27 2011 - Peace To Meece 5K/Alumni RunTeam and alumni run in event in honor of former Panther
CHARLESTON, Ill. - One hundred and one current and former Eastern Illinois cross country runners along with many friends of the program gathered on Saturday morning for the third annual Peace To Meece 5K at the EIU Panther Trail.
The mixed 5K exhibition event was won by Paul Howarth with a time 15:42.55. FreshmanBryce Basting was second with a time of 15:46.36.
The top women's runner was Olivia Klaus at 19:05.86.
EIU opens the 2011 regular season on Friday, Sept. 9 hosting the EIU Walt Crawford Open at the Panther Trail.
