Boey, Gingerich Advance To Friday Semifinals

AUSTIN, Texas - Eastern Illinois seniors Zye Boey and Megan Gingerich both advanced to the semifinals of their respective events on Thursday as the Panthers track and field teams opened up competition at the NCAA West Regional in Austin.

Boey competed in the 100m dash on Thursday running a prelim time of 10.29 to advance to Friday evenings semifinals.  Boey was second in his heat with the ninth fastest prelim time.  The top 12 runners from Friday's semifinals advance to the NCAA National Championships.

Gingerich competed in the 800m dash on Thursday running a prelim time of 2:08.71 to advance to Friday evenings semifinals.  Gingerich posted the 25th best prelim time as the top 27 runners moved on to the semifinals.  The top 12 runners from Friday's semifinals advance to the NCAA National Championships.

Bryce Hogan placed 43rd in the men's long jump on Thursday.  Hogan posted a mark of 23'0.50".
