Boey, Riebold Punch Ticket For Nationals

AUSTIN, TEXAS - Eastern Illinois advanced two athletes to the NCAA Track National Championships as Zye Boey and Jade Riebold both punched their tickets for Des Moines during Friday's action at the NCAA West Regional in Austin, Texas.

Boey will be making his third NCAA National Championship appearance as he posted the second fastest time in the 100m running a 10.15 to advance out of Friday's semifinals.  Later in the evening Boey ran a 20.63 in the 200m prelims to advance to the Saturday semifinal round and give himself a chance to compete in two events at the National Championships.

Riebold advanced to the NCAA National Championships in the pole vault.  The sophomore placed fifth on Friday afternoon clearing a height of 13'8.25".  Riebold becomes just the second EIU women's athlete to advance to the NCAA National Championships joining Kandace Arnold in that elite group.

On the track Dominique Hall advanced to Saturday's semifinal round in the men's 110m hurdles.  He was 23rd with a time of 14.11 as the top 27 times advanced from the prelim round.  Jalisa Paramore was 47th in the 100m hurdles on the women's side with a time of 14.20.

Juniors Graham Morris and Britney Whitehead both wrapped up their seasons on Friday evening in the steeplechase.  Morris placed 40th in the men's steeplechase with a time of 9:25.31.  Whitehead placed 43rd in the women's steeplechase with a time of 11:07.72.

Senior Donald Romero completed his Panther career placing 43rd in the hammer.  Romero's distance was 182'3.

Senior Megan Gingerich wrapped up her EIU career with a 25th place finish in the 800m semifinal run.  Gingerich posted a time of 2:13.63.

Maura Cummins was 23rd in the women's high jump.  The freshman cleared 5'7.25" in her first NCAA Regional competition.
