Four Panthers set EIU career top ten marks at Indiana State
 
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Eastern Illinois track and field turned in a solid performance at the Indiana State Gibson Invitational over the weekend with a pair of individual first place finishes and four athletes posting marks in the EIU career top ten.
 
Riley McInerney won the men's steeplechase with a time of 8:58.  The time ranks fourth on the EIU career list.  Teammate Joe Calio placed fifth in the steeplechase with a time of 9:23.28.
 
In the women's steeplechase sisters Rachel Garippo and Ruth Garippo both posted EIU career top five times as they placed second and fourth in the race.  Rachel Garippowas second with a time of 10:46.15 which ranks third all-time at EIU.  Ruth Garippo was fourth with her time of 10:53.33 ranking fourth on the EIU career list.
 
Haleigh Knapp continued her good year in the women's high jump winning the event with height of 5'7.25".  Knapp has finished first in two of the Panthers three meets this year and was second at the EIU Big Blue Classic last weekend.  Teammate Jackie Jones was fifth in the high jump clearing 5'3.25".
 
Amy Yeoman posted the final career top ten time for EIU on Saturday in the women's 800m.  Yeoman was second with a time of 2:11.87 which ranks tenth on the EIU career list.  Teammate Dhiaa Dean was fourth with a time of 2:12.31.  In the men's 800m Mark Pedziwiatr was second with a time of 1:53.67.
 
Eric Gordon had a pair of top five finishes for EIU on Saturday.  Gordon was third in the pole vault with a height of 15'6.25".  He was fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.26.
 
Jamal Robinson and Christian Ilunga-Matthiesen crossed in second and third place in the men's 100m dash.  Robinson had a finals time of 10.83 for second place while Ilunga-Matthiesen was third with a time of 10.85.
 
Brion Portis was second in the women's triple jump covering 38'8.25".  Davion Foster was fourth in the men's triple jump with a mark of 43'10.50".  Kendall Williams closed out the men's top five finishes for EIU in the sand jumps.  Williams was fourth in the long jump landing at 22'9".
 
In women's field events Janie Howse and Bryn Buckwalter were fourth and fifth in the discus.  Howse placed fourth with a  throw of 143'7".  Buckwalter was fifth with a throw of 142'5".
 
The women's 4x400m relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:50.74.  As a team EIU placed fourth in a field of 13 NCAA Division I teams in the women's meet.  The EIU men also finished fourth in team scoring in a field of ten NCAA Division I schools.
