Track Hosts Friday Night Special

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois will host the Friday Night Special on Feb. 18 as the Panthers warm up for defense of their Ohio Valley Conference track and field titles next weekend at the conference championships. The meet at the Lantz Fieldhouse will begin at 2 p.m. with the women’s weight throw. Running events begin at 3 p.m. with the 5,000 meter run. 

EIU will return to action next week hosting the OVC Indoor Championship meet on Friday and Saturday. 

NCAA Division I programs scheduled to participate in the EIU Friday Night Special are Butler Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana State, Southern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville. Several junior colleges will also being participating in the meet. 

The EIU men enter the weekend ranked No. 9 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region poll.
