Cross Country Teams Honored By USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – Eastern Illinois men’s and women’s cross country teams both received academic recognition from the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association released this week. EIU men’s team was one of 152 teams recognized while the women were one of 192 teams honored.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
EIU men’s team was one of only two Ohio Valley Conference schools honored joining Southeast Missouri. The EIU men posted a GPA of 3.27.
Five Ohio Valley Conference teams were honored on the women’s side with Eastern Illinois posting the second highest conference GPA at 3.55.
