Track Posts Eleven First Place Finishes At WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Eastern Illinois posted eleven individual first place finishes on Saturday as the Panthers finished competition at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Relays.  In addition to the first place finishes, EIU athletes posted 12 career top ten marks.

Zye Boey and Donald Romero were both two event winners for the EIU men.  Boey won the 100m and 200m dash.  Boey's winning time in the 100m was 10.29 while his 200m time was 20.76.  Kaleel Johnson was third in the 100m at 10.61.  Romero won the discus and hammer.  Romero's mark in the discus was 165'9".  His winning mark in the hammer was 195'11" which ranks second on the EIU career list.

EIU dominated the pole vault on both the men's and women's side.  Jade Riebold and Abigail Schmitz placed first and second for the women.  Riebold's winning height was 12'9.50" which set the school record.  Schmitz height was 12'3.50" which ranks second on EIU's career list. Mick VikenJoe Noonan and Dan Chalus swept the medal podium.  Viken placed first at 17'8.50" setting the school record.  Noonan was second at 17'0.75 which ranks second on EIU's career list.  Chalus was third at 16'0.75" which landed in ninth on EIU 's career list.

Graham Morris and Britney Whitehead both won the steeplechase with their winning times ranking in the EIU career top ten.  Morris won with a time of 9:04.58 which is seventh on the career list.  Whitehead ran a time of 10:57.38 which is second best on EIU's career list.

Megan Gingerich won the women's 1500m with a time of 4:36.34 which is eighth best on EIU's career list.  Erika Ramos was third in the 1500m at 4:45.56.  On the men's side Bryce Bastingplaced second in the 1500m at 3:55.97.

In the men's 400m Stefan Gorol and Cody Boarman placed first and second.  Gorol won with a time of 47.93.  Boarman was second at 48.04.

In the men's 800m Sean Wiggan placed first with a time of 1:53.68.  Ephraim Dorsey was third at 1:55.18.  In the women's 800m Paige Biehler was third in the 800m at 2:18.13.

Emily Quinones was third in the 200m at 24.56 which ranks eighth on the EIU career list. Jalisa Paramore was third in the 100m hurdles at 14.21 which ranks fifth on the EIU career list.  On the men's side Dominique Hall was third in the 110m hurdles at 14.37.

In field events Bryce Hogan was third in the long jump at 24'10" which ranks ninth on the EIU career list.  Tyler Allen was second in the triple jump at 47'9.25".  On the women's side Maura Cummins was third in the high jump at 5'5".  Queenie Adeboyejo was second in the triple jump at 39'0.50".
