Men 2nd, Women 3rd At OVC Track Meet

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Eastern Illinois had its streak of five straight Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track Championships snapped on Saturday as the Panther men placed second and the women third at the OVC Meet.
Southeast Missouri swept both the men's and women's crowns. SEMO won the men's title with 207 points followed by EIU with 194.5 and SIUE with 116. On the women's side SEMO scored 141 points followed by Austin Peay with 133.5, EIU with 122.5 and Tennessee State with 120.5.
Daniel Trevor picked up a pair of gold medals for the EIU men winning both the 110m and 400m hurdle events. Trevor won the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.49. He won the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.43. Trevor earned a bronze medal as part of the Panthers third place team in the 4x400m relay. That team posted a time of 3:19.86 withDerek Williamson, Trevor, Bryce Basting and Mark Pedziwiatr comprising the relay squad.
EIU's men's 4x100 relay team posted a first place finish with a time of 40.50. Christian Illunga-Matthiesen, Calvin Edwards, Jamal Robinson and Kaleel Johnson were members of the relay squad.
Dhiaa Dean had the lone first place finish for the EIU women on Saturday in the 800m. Dean posted a time of 2:09.11. Teammate Kristen Paris was second in the 800m with a time of 2:09.35.
EIU had a pair of silver medals in the women's hurdle finals. Jalisa Paramore was second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.51. Amina Jackson was second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.69.
Edwards earned a pair of medals in sprints as he placed 2nd in the 400m and 3rd in the 200m. Edwards time in the 400m was 47.29. His time in the 200m was 21.42. Johnson was third in the 100m with a time of 10.60.
Riley Kittridge was third in the men's shot put with a throw of 53'02.75"
The women's 4x400m relay was third with a time of 3:41.21. The relay team included Jackson, Dean, Camelia Nicholson and Ashley Fouch.
