Panthers have four athletes that rank in regional top 48

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois track and field will host an NCAA Last Chance meet at O'Brien Field on Friday.  The Panthers currently have four athletes that have posted marks that rank in the top 48 in the West Region as the Regional will take place at Arkansas in the coming weeks.

The non-scored meet will include individuals from area schools with throw events set to begin at 10 a.m.  Field events inside the stadium will begin at 12 p.m. and running events are slated for a 4 p.m. start.

Jalisa Paramore has currently set up to compete in the NCAA Regional in two events.  Paramore is 13th in the West Region in the long jump.  She ranks 26th in the 100m hurdles.

EIU has two athletes that have posted top ten regional marks in the pole vault.  Peter Geraghty is ranked third in the pole vault and Mick Viken is ranked sixth.

Calvin Edwards sits just outside the NCAA mark ranking 50th in the 400m.

The men's 4x100 relay team is ranked 47th in the region.
